When your personal conduct on or off the job adversely affects your performance, that of other<br />

Associates, or the legitimate interests of <strong>Cerner</strong>, it may become a concern to <strong>Cerner</strong>. Associates<br />

who are found to have engaged in unlawful or unethical behavior are subject to corrective action,<br />

up to and including termination of employment.<br />

Work Environment<br />

<strong>Cerner</strong> strives to provide all Associates with a healthy, safe and productive work environment.<br />

<strong>Cerner</strong> has established an Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”) Policy and an Anti-<br />

Harassment Policy to establish a positive work environment free from unlawful discrimination<br />

and harassment. <strong>Cerner</strong> has also established a Substance Abuse Policy, which prohibits the<br />

unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession or use of a controlled substance, to<br />

provide a workplace free of drugs; a Tobacco-Free Workplace Policy, to provide a workplace<br />

free of tobacco products; an Alcohol Consumption Policy, to provide guidance for <strong>Cerner</strong><br />

sponsored events where alcohol is served and to encourage Associates who choose to drink<br />

alcohol to do so responsibly; a Policy on the Use of Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices While<br />

Driving, which requires Associates to follow federal, state and local laws regarding the use of<br />

electronic devices while driving and to follow the guidelines set forth in the policy should an<br />

Associate reasonably determine it is safe under the circumstances to use a mobile phone while<br />

driving; and, a Weapons Policy, which prohibits certain types of weapons from being brought<br />

onto <strong>Cerner</strong> property, to provide a safe environment for <strong>Cerner</strong>’s Associates and others visiting<br />

<strong>Cerner</strong>. These policies are set forth on my<strong>Cerner</strong>. If you believe these policies are being<br />

violated, you should report such violations as directed by the specific policy or as set forth above<br />

in “Communications Channels.”<br />

Some other activities that are prohibited because they clearly are not conducive to a good work<br />

environment are: (1) threats and (2) violent behavior.<br />

Associate Privacy<br />

<strong>Cerner</strong> collects, uses and maintains personal information that relates to your employment,<br />

including information related to: the hiring process, payroll, compensation, benefits and your<br />

performance at <strong>Cerner</strong>. Use of your personal information is restricted to <strong>Cerner</strong> Associates (and<br />

business partners performing services on behalf of <strong>Cerner</strong>) who have a need to know. Disclosure<br />

of your personal information for non-business reasons is limited to: approval in advance by an<br />

Associate, employment verifications, satisfying the legitimate requirements of a successor or<br />

prospective successor to <strong>Cerner</strong>’s business operations or in response to appropriate investigatory<br />

or legal matters. Use and any distribution of your personal health information residing with<br />

<strong>Cerner</strong>’s benefit plans is handled in accordance with regulations set forth by the Health Insurance<br />

Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) for U.S. based associates and/or the applicable<br />

laws in the country in which you work.<br />

Associates or business partners who are responsible for maintaining personal information and<br />

those who are provided access to such information must ensure that the information is not<br />
