FINANCE<br />

Directs <strong>the</strong> <strong>Texas</strong> Education Agency (TEA) to fund TRS-participating school districts, participating charter schools,<br />

and regional education service centers for supplemental compensation (<strong>the</strong> “pass-through”) to district employees in<br />

an amount established in <strong>the</strong> General Appropriations Act.<br />

Establishes a 90-day waiting period before new employees are eligible to receive supplemental compensation,<br />

effective September 1, 2005.<br />

Requires employers to contribute an amount equal to <strong>the</strong> state contribution to TRS on behalf <strong>of</strong> new TRS members<br />

first employed as <strong>of</strong> September 1, 2005, for <strong>the</strong> first 90 days <strong>of</strong> employment.<br />
