Interferometer Sizes <br />
We require Permanent Diffraction Limited performance at Dome<br />
C, with seeing as "bad" as 0.8" at 0.5 µm. This means a r 0 of 12<br />
cm and an 8 x 8 elements Deformable Mirror for a perfect<br />
correction of a 700 mm primary pupil (even better with 500 mm).<br />
When phased by AO, individual telescopes can then be cophased<br />
by 3 (triplet) to 0.07" (AFSIIC facility) and 0.025" with the full 3<br />
x 3 triplets, 4.3 meters A-FOURMI interferometer.
