• The Garrison RMO Budget Office was notified 27 April from the Pentagon that they had won the FY2010 Undersecretary
of Defense (Comptroller) Team award for Improvements to Budget Execution. They were chosen from among 100 other
applicants across the Department of Defense. This is in part due to their excellence in hosting two Army Headquarters and
15 other installations for "live" training on the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS).
• A Lean Six Sigma project pilot test revealed Soldier in-processing lead time can be reduced by 25%, with approximately
$5.2M savings in salary cost and higher customer satisfaction and employee motivation will be recognized.
• Army Community Service (ACS) was selected as a central intake for services as a result of a study conducted by the
Chief of Staff of the Army. The Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield ACS was selected as a pilot site and became a directorate
effective 14 Mar 11.
• Directorate of Logistics (DOL) installed a video surveillance system to monitor the E85 fuel pump at the Fort Stewart fuel
facility. This action will deter fuel pilferage and provide another anti-terrorism security measure.
• The DOL and Safety Office teamed up for the DA Ammunition, Logistics, and Explosives Safety Review. Fort Stewart and
Hunter AAF were recognized as having outstanding ammunition operations.
• Two Child Development Centers were completed on Hunter AAF. These centers are located at Haley Avenue and South
Perimeter Road.
• The Emergency Placement for Military Children During Deployment program allows for the placement of military children
with Family Members versus being placed in foster homes until the deployed Soldier returns home.
