Winemaking by Diana Cullen and Kevin Cullen on the Cullen property in Margaret River wine region of Western
Australia since 1966. Studies in the early 1960‟s showed that the climate of Margaret River was similar to that of
Bordeaux, particularly Pomerol, in which to grow the finest quality grapes. Vanya Cullen, the daughter of Diana
and Kevin, has been responsible for winemaking at her family's Wilyabrup winery since 1989. She has been
rigorously experimenting in the vineyard (especially with soil and trellis management) and in the winery all the
while looking to give her wines greater complexity. Cullen Wines while remaining family owned has since evolved
making quality wine from biodynamically grown grapes sourced exclusively from The Cullen Estate Vineyard and
Mangan Vineyard.

ACW01 Cullen Margaret River White 2010 Margaret River
This wine is essentially a replacement for the Ellen Bussell White wine and is made entirely from fruit grown on Cullen own
vineyards. As it is made predominantly from the traditional Bordeaux blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, it is bottled
in a Bordeaux bottle. However, the wine does contain a small amount of Chardonnay and this has added complexity and a
touch of richness to the middle palate, without changing the basic structure of the wine.
ACW02 Cullen Mangan Vineyard Semillon 2008 Margaret River
The Semillon fruit was picked at Baumés ranging from 10 to 13º, which has ensured that the wine has an excellent
balance of rich fruit and good acidity and an ideal alcohol level of 12%. Twenty two percent of the wine was fermented and
matured in French oak.
ACW03 Cullen Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2010 Margaret River
The fruit for this wine was picked at 9.7 to 12.2˚ Baumé and comprised 66% Sauvignon Blanc and 34% Semillon, with all
of the former variety being matured in new French oak for five months.
ACW04 Cullen Mangan Vineyard Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2009 RP 91 Margaret River
Excellent pale straw colour, with a touch of green. Attractive combination of cut grass, lime and white flower bouquet. On
the palate, very focused. The mineral characters blend perfectly with the lovely lemon flavours that are a feature of high
quality Semillon and which, in turn, are backed by very good acidity. The palate is integrated and has great length.

ACR01 Cullen Margaret River Red 2008 Margaret River
This delicious wine was made from 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Malbec, 25% Merlot, with small amount of Petit Verdot
and Cabernet Franc. On the nose, attractive bouquet of black fruits, plums and violets. The palate is medium weight and
containing an abundance of delicious fruit and ripe cherry flavours.
ACR02 Cullen Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2008 Margaret River
Excellent medium red. On the nose, strong and rich black berry characters, with a touch of pepper and violets. Great depth
of flavour, with the delicious Merlot filling out the middle palate and thus complimenting the clean and classical Cabernet
component of the wine. The wine is tied together perfectly by the soft tannins and given structure by the good oak.
ACR03 Cullen Mangan 2009 Margaret River
This wine consisted of 63% Malbec, 27% Petit Verdot, 10% Merlot. The wine was naturally fermented and then aged for
12 months in French oak, which had previously been used and thereby helped retain the fruit freshness.
ACR04 Cullen Diana Madeline 2008 WS 93 RP 91 Margaret River
Cullen flagship red wine, which was made from 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot, is a particularly elegant
example of this renowned wine style. Part of the reason for this elegance stems from the benefits of using biodynamic
viticulture as this has led to a marked improvement in the structure and oxygenation of the soil. This in turn has enhanced
tannin ripening.
