Schaapenberg terroir with its sea-facing slopes <strong>and</strong> excellent soils has started to draw comparison with some <strong>of</strong><br />

Bordeaux's best, with some exceptional wines emerging from the area.<br />

SJW04 Journey's End Haystack Chardonnay 2010<br />

Light yellow colour. Intensely-focused flavours showing citrus, tropical fruits <strong>and</strong> mineral tones. The taste is long <strong>and</strong><br />

elegant with excellent fruit/wood integration. The palate shows riper fruit that combines well with the creaminess.<br />

SJW05 Journey's End Chardonnay 2010<br />

Gold colour. Complex nose with citrus, concentrated tropical fruit <strong>and</strong> hints <strong>of</strong> pear drops. The palate shows sweet<br />

ripe fruit,creaminess with well balanced acidity.<br />

SJR05 Journey's End Pastors Blend 2008<br />

Dark violet like appearance <strong>and</strong> showing youth. Earthy, herbaceous tones with ripe fruit <strong>and</strong> underpinned mintyness.<br />

Sweet spicy palate <strong>and</strong> aggressive tannins gives the wine a generous finish.<br />

SJR06 Journey's End Shiraz 2006<br />

Deep, intense purple-red rim with a ruby colour centre. The nose is typically sweet berry fruits <strong>and</strong> spiciness with an earthy<br />

component. The palate shows mulberry spiced by black pepper, savoury <strong>and</strong> gamey with a rich, long aftertaste.<br />

SJR08 Journey's End Merlot 2007<br />

Ruby colour with a light brown tint. Nice upfront fruit <strong>and</strong> some minty undertones on the nose. Some fruit cake <strong>and</strong> herbal<br />

eucalyptus tones that gives the wine a earthy character. On the palate is gentle ripe fruit with firm tannins <strong>and</strong> a supple<br />

sweetness that gives the wine a lingering aftertaste. Full bodied complex wine showing youth.<br />

SJR07 Journey's End The Cape Doctor Shiraz 2005<br />

The wine appears to have a dark, intense ruby-violet colour. The fruits on the nose are fragrant strawberry, underpinned<br />

by fleshier bramble <strong>and</strong> mocha. The palate is packed with strawberry <strong>and</strong> mulberry, spiced by black pepper <strong>and</strong><br />

intriguingly complex. The richness <strong>of</strong> the flavours is balanced by some fresh raspberry giving a lighter feel to the finish.<br />
