Salgado’s magnum opus
To the ends of the world in black and white – a landmark publication on our planet in its natural state
Unlike the Collector’s Edition, which is conceived as a large-format portfolio that
meanders across the planet, the trade edition presents a different selection of photographs
arranged geographically in five chapters: Planet South, Sanctuaries, Africa,
Northern Spaces, Amazonia and Pantanal. Though they are drawn from the same
body of work, the two books are radically different in their approach. Nevertheless,
both books pay homage to Salgado’s triumphant and unparalleled Genesis project.
The exhibition “Genesis” will be shown at the following venues:
• Natural History Museum, London, April 11 through September 8, 2013
• Jardim Botânico, Rio de Janeiro, May through August 2013
• Ara Pacis Museum, Rome, May 9 through September 3, 2013
• Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, May 1 through August 25, 2013
through January 5, 2014
• SESC Belenzinho, São Paulo, September through November 2013
