a reality. The planned addition<br />
to the campus will provide study<br />

Peace Corps Director<br />

Kicking off his California recruitment tour, R. Sargent<br />
Shriver spoke to <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>State</strong> students on the<br />
Peace Corps program. Mr. Shriver, director of the<br />
U.S. Peace Corps, emphasized the fact that California<br />
supplied a majority of the 7,000 volunteers stationed in<br />
46 countries. During the week of Oct. 7, a team of<br />
representatives set up a Peace Corps center on campus<br />
to supply students with information about the program<br />
and to administer entrance tests. As a result of the<br />
campaign, <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>State</strong> set a national recruiting record<br />
for colleges and universities.<br />
