Gymnastics<br />
The <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>State</strong> gymnastics team, comprised of sopHomores<br />
and juniors, made a slow start but improved rapidly as the<br />
season progressed. Sophomores Skip Spindler and Dennis Johnston<br />
led the team in scoring, and fine individual performances were<br />
also turned in by Mickey Johnston and Terry McPherson. Curt<br />
Gates, in his first year as gymnastics coach at <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>State</strong>,<br />
has done an excellent job of rebuilding the team.<br />
