annual Polka Party. Bids for the dance were sold<br />
from a Swiss chalet on campus. The Swiss Club<br />
in Chula Vista was the setting for the event,<br />
with music provided by the Ray-Nears.<br />

Scientist and philosopher Sir Julian Huxley spoke<br />
at <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>State</strong> on the "Humanist<br />
Revolution." He was at one time a professor<br />
at the <strong>University</strong> of London and, later,<br />
executive director of UNESCO.<br />
Former CIA Chief Allen Dulles spoke at <strong>San</strong><br />
<strong>Diego</strong> <strong>State</strong> as part of his tour of California <strong>State</strong><br />
Colleges. His address concerned the CIA's<br />
responsibility in combating subversive movements<br />
and Communism.<br />
