Recent Gifts Gifts to the Northeast Health Foundation come in all sizes and shapes. Among the generous gifts received in recent months are: Herold Charitable Trust $25,000 - to update the fetal monitoring system for Samaritan Hospital’s Family Birth Center. Capital Cardiology Associates $20,000 - to be divided equally to support the purchase of patient care monitors for Albany Memorial’s critical care unit and maternal/fetal monitors for Samaritan’s Family Birth Center. The Community Foundation for the Capital Region Community AIDS Partnership Program $15,000 - to support the sixth year of the Eddy Visiting Nurse Association’s AIDS Care Team Program as it expands its volunteer base in African-American churches. Albany Associates in Cardiology $10,000 - to support the purchase of new patient care monitors for Albany Memorial’s critical care unit. Frederick McDonald Trust $10,000 - to support the purchase of new patient care monitors for Albany Memorial’s critical care unit. Charles P. Ferro Foundation $5,000 - to honor the memory of Dr. Richard Gluck and to purchase maxillofacial surgery equipment for Albany Memorial’s operating rooms. John Lang $5,000 - to the Northeast Health annual fund. Anonymous $5,000 - to the Beverwyck Elder Fund. Save the Date Mark your calendar for the Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center fourth anniversary event to be held on September 13, 2001, at the Pruyn House in Newtonville. Proceeds will benefit the Richard C. Rockwell Endowment Fund at the Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center. The evening’s events will include a silent and live auction with over 70 items featuring auctioneer Brian Jaffe from Independent Galleries. In addition, there will be a display of artwork provided by the residents, staff and friends of Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center and clients of the Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center DayBreak program. Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center Expands On Wednesday, May 30, the Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center dedicated its 10-bed expansion in honor of Northeast Health president and CEO, Craig A. Duncan. The Craig A. Duncan House will provide much-needed additional beds for individuals with memory loss. The expansion would not have been possible without significant contributions from our donors, including a $175,000 contribution from an anonymous donor and a $25,000 gift from the Lewis Family Foundation for landscaping. Slingerland Auditorium Renovations The Slingerland Auditorium at Albany Memorial Hospital recently received a facelift thanks to a gracious gift from Fredericka V. Slingerland.
