Take for example the number of Mohommed's<br />
wives, which is one of the most scandalising<br />
things in Islam. Chapter XXXIII verse<br />
52, definitely says "O, Prophet : ! it is not<br />
permitted to thee to take other wives hereafter,<br />
nor to change thy present wife for<br />
other women, though their beauty charms<br />
thee, except slaves whom thy right hand<br />
shall possess."<br />
"The Moslem moral life is very loose. The greatest<br />
harm Islam has done to its followers has<br />
been its divorce of life from morality."<br />
"This is very important<br />
in Islamic Law. A man<br />
may divorce his wife, but a woman may never<br />
divorce her husband."<br />
Without going into further details, we may state<br />
here that the purpose of the present chapter is to<br />
examine critically the charges that have been brought<br />
against Hazrat Muhommed, Moslem women and<br />
Moslem life, in the light of the Holy Bible and the<br />
Christian conduct with reference to women. In a<br />
subsequent chapter we shall make an attempt to<br />
present the mode of life that Christian woman have<br />
been forced to accept and its repercussions on<br />
Christian life as a whole.<br />
The most damaging accusation<br />
brought against<br />
Islam is that it allows polygamy. Mr. Manly P. Hall,<br />
the erudite author of Masonic Hermetic Qabalistic<br />
and Rosicrucian Symbolical Philosophy^ says in his<br />
article, the Faith of Islam :
