Prerequisite: Enrollment each semester in one <strong>of</strong> the following occupational fields: Accounting, Administration <strong>of</strong> Justice, Air Conditioning, Allied Health, Auto<br />
Mechanics Technology, Business, Child Development, Computer Science, Construction, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Electrical, Electronics, Fire Technology,<br />
Logistics/Warehouse, Management, Photography, Physical Science, Real Estate, Sociology, Welding, or other approved vocational field. Designed to coordinate the<br />
student's occupational on‐the‐job training with related instruction in work related skills. Determination <strong>of</strong> the appropriate work experience is made by the instructor,<br />
with input from the student, based upon several factors, including the number <strong>of</strong> hours worked during the semester, occupational program requirements, and type <strong>of</strong><br />
work in which the student is involved. Student MUST have a position, paid or non‐paid, available. A maximum <strong>of</strong> eight credits may be earned in occupational work<br />
experience education during one enrollment period for a total <strong>of</strong> 16 semester units (Title 5, Section 55253) Grades: P/NP. Degree Applicable Credit. CSU<br />

COSMETOLOGY<br />
Course Description should read: Beginning Cosmetology (COSM 50A) is an introduction to the basic fundamentals <strong>of</strong> cosmetology. Theory in rules, regulations, and<br />
sanitation, pr<strong>of</strong>essional image, bacteriology, basic procedures <strong>of</strong> draping, shampooing, and wet hairstyling are taught by lecture and demonstration with supervised<br />
work practice. In order to meet state requirements for testing, students must have a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED) or have completed 10th grade and<br />
passed an ability to benefit (ATB) and be at least 17 years old. Grades: Option (A‐F), P/NP. Degree Applicable Credit Major Applicable<br />

Prerequisite ‐ COSM 50A with a "C" grade or better. Course Description should read: Beginning Cosmetology (COSM 50B) is a continuation to basic fundamentals <strong>of</strong><br />
cosmetology. Theory in rules, regulations, and sanitation, pr<strong>of</strong>essional image, bacteriology, basic procedures <strong>of</strong> draping, shampooing, haircutting, thermal iron<br />
techniques, and hair augmentation are taught by lecture and demonstration with supervised work practice. In order to meet state requirements for testing, students<br />
