involve actions as per ROSDCP and generally to cover the initial part in
table top exercise for altering, notification quantification assessment of
response actions and the deployment for containment, recovery, transport,
disposal, shoreline cleanup and claims preparation should be worked up as
practical exercise.
(c) Level 3. Spill scenarios reflecting an incident of significance to
generally wider area response calls for invoking of NOSDCP. As invoking
NOSDCP involves invoking national disaster management plan, these
exercises will be coordinated from CGHQ.
1.47. The Level-1 and Level -2 exercises can be preceded by table Top exercise
and Mock Drills, if the level of knowledge of the personnel taking part in the
exercise is not adequate enough to understand the procedures that are followed
after a spill occurs in the site.
Periodicity of Exercise
1.48. Level 1 and Level 2 exercises are promulgated as part of annual training
programme. Participation in Level 3 exercise will be as per the schedule
promulgated by CGHQ.
Planning Exercise
1.49. The Coordinating Coast Guard unit to conduct the exercise as per the
annual training programme in consultation with stake holders emphasizing
stages of exercise planning as per OSREG.
Equipment Deployment
1.50. The purpose of the equipment deployment exercise is to validate that the
equipment is appropriate for the operating environment in which it is intended to
be used and that operating personnel are trained and capable of its deployment
and operation.
Documentation
1.51. Proper Documentation for evaluation should include the following
information:-
(a) Type of exercise
(b) Date and time of the exercise
(c) A detailed description of the exercise
(d) Objectives achieved during the exercise
(e) The components of the response plan exerdis3ed
