BOXOFFICE Coverage of
Show-A-Rama Praised
Kansas City—In a letter to Ben
Shlyen, publisher of BOXOFFICE,
M. B. Smith, vice-president of Commonwealth
Theatres and a co-chairman
of the Show-A-Rama V conven-
the United Theatre Owners of
tion of
America, praised and expressed appreciation
of this publication's reporting
of the convention. The letter
follows:
I must tell you how deeply impressed
and amazed I was to scan BOXOFFICE
this morning. Your coverage of Show-
A-Rama V and your magnificent editorial
simply stunned me. You and
your terrific staff have again proved
that you can accomplish the impossible.
I do not know just how much or
what the officers and directors of the
United Theatre Owners of the Heart
of America can do to prove how grateful
and appreciative we are for the
terrific detail and complete coverage
you gave, and are giving, to what I
think is the best exhibitor show in
America. I doubt that you could ever
be repaid properly—you have given so
freely and wonderfully to the cause of
showmanship.
Your editorial, "Showmanship
Alive!" is a beautiful and powerful
piece of writing.
You have covered well
the spirit and the objectivity of Show-
A-Rama.
Please accept my compliments, and
convey my good wishes to your staff
for a magnificent coverage of the show.
