This may be the best sugar maple for the
southern plains and the Southwest. Selected
from an isolated strain of sugar maple found in
Caddo County, Oklahoma, by Dr. John Pair of
Kansas State University. It is very resistant to
heat, drought and leaf tatter.

Adapted to heat and humidity, this southern
Tennessee selection was tested in Alabama
by Jeff Sibley of Auburn University. Summer
foliage is fresh and bright green compared to
other sugar maples that suffer in hot weather.
Additionally, it is among the narrowest and
upright forms we have seen.
A cutleaf selection featuring lateral branches which
are more slender and horizontal than others. It is
more refined than the species.
