156 LIVERPOOL GIG - built by Lawton of Liverpool & London, to suit 15-2 hh; painted green with yellow lining, leather upholstery, patent leather dash and mud guards and basket work panels and original whip holder. On 16-spoke Warner wheels with semielliptic springs and hub caps stamped ‘no. 3993’. There is a small painted fox on the rear panel. To be sold with a pair of black/brass oval fronted screw-in Lawton lamps. Estimate: £8,000 – 9,000 History – A genuine Lawton. Was originally purchased by Adrian Lander in Buttevant, Eire over 25 years ago and purchased by Norman in 2006 in original factory paint, photo available. This Gig was restored by Eugene Larkin in May 2008. A genuine Lawton for the collector. 24
157 TANDEM COCKING CART - built by L. Suet, Corbell, Paris, to suit 15 to 16 hh; painted yellow with black lining, leather upholstery with high driver’s wedge seat. On 57” 14-spoke Warner wheels with stamped whitemetal hub caps, leather horn holder, wicker basket, turn handle for adjusting the balance, metal steps to front and rear. To be sold with large pair of black/whitemetal oval fronted screw-in lamps with bevelled side glass. Estimate: £12,000 -13,000 History - Restored by Christian van der Heuvel & Sons in 1994, Norman purchased this vehicle in 1994 from Frits van der Heuvel, Holland and was transported to Ireland along with a Gelderlander which Frits sold to him. 25
