167 BROUGHAM - built by Thrupp & Maberly, London, to suit 15-2 to 16 hh. Finished in
black and Royal blue with red lining, with the undercarriage and wheels painted maroon
with red lining and carved dub ends. On 12 and 14-spoke English pattern wheels with
elliptic springs, green leather upholstery and ivory fittings to the interior of the door, oval
brass exterior handles, patent leather dash, covered foot step, driver’s wedge seat and
rear carriage lamp, splinter bar and pole.

History - It was sold in Frank Haydon’s sale in 1966 on behalf of the late W.T. Barton
who had purchased it from Frank Haydon. Miss Josephine Colebrook remembers the
vehicle being originally dark green when she was driven to her wedding by her father. Mr
Haydon had purchased it from the late John Colebrook. Previously owned by Ian Smith
from Pickering, Yorkshire from whom Norman Brown purchased in 1999.
