163 HIGH SPORTING DOG CART - built for Norman Brown by the Fenix Carriage
Company, to suit 15 to 16 hh, suitable for pair or team; painted black and lined in red and
black. On 40” and 48” 12 and 14-spoke English pattern wheels on elliptic springs,
louvered panels, upholstered in black leather with wedge driver’s seat, foot, handbrake
and drop down seat to the rear and team pole and bars.

History - Built by Mark Broadbent of Fenix Carriages in 1991 and based on the Sporting
Dog Cart at Arlington Court Carriage Museum, except that traditional wheels have been
used on rebuilt axles by John Gapp of Norfolk. There are square brake blocks operated by
hand and foot brake. The splinter bar has leather covered roller bolts with leather used
extensively for the upholstery, the seat surrounds, step guards and for the luggage straps.
