163 HIGH SPORTING DOG CART - built for Norman Brown by the Fenix Carriage<br />
Company, to suit 15 to 16 hh, suitable for pair or team; painted black and lined in red and<br />
black. On 40” and 48” 12 and 14-spoke English pattern wheels on elliptic springs,<br />
louvered panels, upholstered in black leather with wedge driver’s seat, foot, handbrake<br />
and drop down seat to the rear and team pole and bars.<br />

History - Built by Mark Broadbent of Fenix Carriages in 1991 and based on the Sporting<br />
Dog Cart at Arlington Court Carriage Museum, except that traditional wheels have been<br />
used on rebuilt axles by John Gapp of Norfolk. There are square brake blocks operated by<br />
hand and foot brake. The splinter bar has leather covered roller bolts with leather used<br />
extensively for the upholstery, the seat surrounds, step guards and for the luggage straps.<br />
