GEOS Languages PLUS - NEW YORK
EVERYONE
COMES TO NEW
YORK CITY
New York is known as ‘The Big Apple’ and is a major source of entertainment, finance,
and business around the world.
New York has long been immortalized in songs and movies for good reason. There’s literally something to do at
all hours of the day with places such as music lounges, fitness clubs, and diners opening 24 hours, 7 days a week.
From high-end designer goods on Fifth Ave to eclectic jewelry in Greenwich Village, from delicious Chinese food in
Chinatown to fancy steakhouses on the Upper East Side, and from indie acts in nightclubs to grand-scale concerts
by famous musicians, there’s a little something for every taste and every person. The City itself is a multi-cultural,
multi-ethnic melting pot of people and cultures from around the globe. Thus, it is very easy for students to make
friends, practice English, and learn about American culture while enjoying famous New York cuisine such as New
York pizza, cheesecake, and bagels. The Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Broadway, Central Park, New York Yankees,
MOMA, Metropolitan Museum of Art, SoHo, East Village, Fifth Ave – these are just a few of the many things and
places you can enjoy in the City. And, for those students who want to escape the sprawling metropolis, New York
also has several beaches and parks where students can just sit back and unwind. New York is truly the city that
never sleeps!
NEW YORK
