The Georgia <strong>LSAMP</strong> is one <strong>of</strong> the n<strong>at</strong>ion’s most productive in<br />

terms <strong>of</strong> ranking among the baccalaure<strong>at</strong>e-origin institutions <strong>of</strong><br />

Black STEM doctor<strong>at</strong>e recipients. The unifying themes <strong>of</strong> this<br />

<strong>LSAMP</strong> are: focused recruitment, retention, required research<br />

particip<strong>at</strong>ion, student financial support, and gradu<strong>at</strong>e school<br />

enrollment. The Georgia <strong>LSAMP</strong> will significantly increase the<br />

number <strong>of</strong> STEM baccalaure<strong>at</strong>e degrees awarded, increase<br />

the number <strong>of</strong> students entering gradu<strong>at</strong>e school each year,<br />

and increase retention.<br />

This AMP continues to make significant contributions to the<br />

production <strong>of</strong> a diversified STEM workforce in the 21st century. The following<br />

Three partner institutions are ranked among the top 20<br />

baccalaure<strong>at</strong>e-origin institutions <strong>of</strong> Black STEM<br />

doctor<strong>at</strong>e recipients.<br />
