The Bonfils family, winegrowers from father to son since 1870 owns 14 estates in
Languedoc-Roussillon and two in Bordeaux (Montagne Saint-Emilion and Premières Côtes
de Bordeaux), representing a total of 1 160 hectares. They also manage the Maurel Vedeau
trading house, dedicated to exports, and Alliance Terroirs, once named Bessière, one of
the oldest trading houses in Languedoc-Roussillon. Jean-Michel Bonfils and his sons have
drawn up Draconian specifications with the aim of optimising the quality of their grapes.
They own a state of the art winery in the Domaine de la Motte, in Narbonne, with a capacity
of 70 000 hl, including an exceptional thermovinification system wit. Over the years, Bonfils
has developed close partnerships with the region’s most promising vine-growers in order to
propose a rich range of Vins de Pays, varietal wines and AOCs of the South of France, from
Languedoc-Roussillon to Provence via the Côtes du Rhône.
