Appendix A – <strong>International</strong> examinations of UK awarding bodies<br />
studies and introduces students to world of business or IT. It<br />
consists of the following six compulsory modules: Developing<br />
English Language Skills, Advanced English Language Skills,<br />
English for Academic Purposes, Study Skills, Culture Studies,<br />
Foundation Mathematics. A further two modules are chosen<br />
from the following four electives: Introduction to Computing,<br />
Introduction to Programming, Introduction to Business,<br />
Introduction to Accounting and Economics.<br />
Students must pass all eight modules to be awarded the<br />
qualification. Assessed by examination and assignments.<br />
Awarded by NCC Education.<br />
NCC Education level 3 Diploma in Computing (L3DC)<br />
An introduction to computing which provides students with a<br />
broad but secure foundation in the fundamental concepts of<br />
computing and the essential study skills needed to succeed at<br />
undergraduate level. Students will be introduced to<br />
programming and mathematical techniques which will assist<br />
them in their understanding of computing and their future<br />
studies. The programme allows progression to the NCC<br />
Education level 4 Diploma in Computing or Business IT<br />
programmes. The programme consists of the following five<br />
compulsory modules: Study and Communication Skills,<br />
Mathematical Techniques, IT Skills, Introduction to Computing,<br />
Introduction to Programming.<br />
Candidates must pass all five modules to be awarded the<br />
qualification. Assessed by assignments and examination. Awarded<br />
by NCC Education.<br />
NCC Education level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC)<br />
A one-year, classroom-based academic programme which<br />
equips students with fundamental skills and knowledge in<br />
computing. Upon completion of the programme students will be<br />
competent in the development, testing and maintenance of<br />
software and database systems. The programme is aimed at<br />
students seeking undergraduate entry on to the NCC Education<br />
<strong>International</strong> Degree Journey in Computing or those wishing to<br />
progress to study at universities with which NCC Education has<br />
articulation agreements. Alternatively, the programme helps<br />
those who are looking to improve their career prospects or gain<br />
employment within the IT sector. Upon successful completion,<br />
students can either use the qualification to secure employment<br />
in the IT sector or continue their studies on to the level 5<br />
Diploma in Computing (L5DC). Alternatively, students can apply<br />
to one of the universities which accept NCC Education<br />
graduates on to the second year of their degree programmes.<br />
The programme consists of a total of eight modules: Skills for<br />
Computing, Computer Networks, Computer Systems, Designed<br />
and Developing a Website, Databases, Designing and<br />
Developing Object-Oriented Computer Programmes, Software<br />
Development Techniques, Office Solutions Development.<br />
Students must pass all eight modules to be awarded the<br />
qualification.<br />
The programme is assessed by assignment and examination.<br />

NCC Education level 4 Diploma in Business Information<br />
Technology (L4DBIT)<br />
A one-year, classroom-based academic programme, which<br />
provides students with a comprehensive understanding of<br />
computing, communication and business skills. Upon<br />
completion of the programme students will be able to<br />
demonstrate a clear understanding of computing systems.<br />
Students will also gain a solid foundation and breadth of<br />
knowledge in business. The programme is aimed at students<br />
seeking undergraduate entry on to the NCC Education<br />
<strong>International</strong> Degree Journey in Business IT, or those wishing to<br />
progress to study at universities with which NCC Education has<br />
articulation agreements. Alternatively, the programme helps<br />
those who are looking to improve their career prospects or gain<br />
employment within the IT sector.<br />

concepts. Students will also gain a solid foundation and<br />
breadth of knowledge in business management, economics<br />

Business or those wishing to progress to study at universities<br />

NCC Education level 5 Diploma in Computing (L5DC)<br />
A one-year, classroom-based academic programme, which<br />
equips students with a critical understanding of the established<br />
principles of computing. Students will have developed new<br />
skills relevant to the IT industry and build upon the knowledge<br />
gained from the L4DC. The programme is aimed at students<br />
seeking to progress to the second year of a three-year NCC<br />
Education <strong>International</strong> Degree Journey in Computing, or those<br />
wishing to progress to study at universities with which NCC<br />
Education has articulation agreements. Alternatively, the<br />
programme helps those who are looking to improve their<br />
career prospects or gain employment within the IT sector.<br />

Professional Issues in IT, Network Security and Cryptography,<br />
Information Systems Analysis, Dynamic Websites, Analysis,<br />
