application such as this where oil leaks cannot be tolerated<br />

• Unlike cast aluminum, billet has none of the internal voids or<br />

impurities which are inherent in a casting<br />

• Billet is not subject to residual internal stresses caused by<br />

thermal contraction of the metal as a casting cools<br />
