Welcome from the Associate Dean
Welcome to the College and the profession of Pharmacy.
Certainly these are exciting times for the profession and for
the College of Pharmacy. Changes in the profession of pharmacy
are opening the doors to many new and exciting roles
and careers. We are seeing the growth of collaborative practice
opportunities with pharmacists monitoring and managing
patient care. It is indeed exciting to see pharmacists develop
specialty clinics, vaccine programs, and providing
pharmaceutical care.
The goal of the College of Pharmacy is to help prepare you to
be a leader in pharmacy. Pharmacists have long been an
important member of the health care team. With strong leadership, the profession
of pharmacy will continue to play an increasing role in the provision of quality
health care. The faculty at the College are committed to help you be among the
best. With a strong commitment to your professional education, your future in
pharmacy will be exciting and rewarding.
As a student in the College of Pharmacy you become part of a larger community;
students, faculty and practitioners are all committed to the advancement of healthcare.
If you will take time and become involved in the activities and associations of
the College, you will find that your experience is rewarding. The friendships and
professional contacts that you develop during your educational experience will be
great assets throughout your pharmacy career.
While the path you have begun may not be easy, the goal is worth it.
