finance. This might have lead them to take
greater risks or incur losses and caused
the investment results to fall behind their
strategic predictions. At the same time,
more and more Chinese investors are
confronted with similar issues in EU
countries. Sun Yang was always asking
himself how these confusions could be
reduced. He says, “I think the internship
played an extremely important role in the
successful implementation of my plans.
I learned the commerce and culture of
EU countries more directly, and I had the
opportunity to learn the tax system and
relevant laws of Germany as well as the
other EU counties.” In fact, Sun Yang had
the opportunity to get to know the German
Federal Chamber of Tax Advisers, which
collaborates with multiple international
tax advisers’ organizations around the
world.
In addition, Sun Yang advised in the
matter of a grand plan in the transport
and logistic industry, to “make a delivery
airport-to-airport within 3 days or doorto-door
within 7 days.” According to
Mr. Sun, this service would be “the most
effective solution from EU to China.” He
writes in his report that “this internship
will be very useful for my future career,
indeed. I believe, taking part in the METP
project is the best way to help achieve
more convenient trade and communication
between the EU and Chinese clients.”

Z
hu Weiping from the city of
Wuxi in Jiangsu Province
joined METP when she was
39. She is a very active person. As she
writes, “I have many roles in society,
as director of the Research Institute for
the Management and Development of
Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
(RIMD-SMES), as professor of
Jiangnan University in business law,
as a professional lawyer, and as one
of the owners of a company.” For
her seven-week internship she chose
the Frankfurt School of Finance &
Management (FS), which was founded
in 1957 and is now one of the leading
private German business schools.
Headquartered in Frankfurt am Main
