Have obtained all materials needed <strong>for</strong> both the instructor <strong>and</strong> participants be<strong>for</strong>e entering the first<br />

session of the instructor course. See Course Materials section above <strong>for</strong> details on obtaining<br />

Note: Age <strong>and</strong> <strong>CPR</strong>/<strong>AED</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Professional</strong> <strong>Rescuers</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Health</strong> Care Providers certifications will be<br />

verified during your first classroom session.<br />

Certification Requirement<br />

To be certified as an instructor, you must:<br />

Successfully complete the prerequisite requirement.<br />

Attend <strong>and</strong> actively participate in all course sessions.<br />

Successfully complete class activities including two practice-teaching assignments.<br />

Score at least 80 percent (20 correct answers out of 25 questions) on the instructor written exam.<br />

Complete the online Course Record Administration training in the American Red Cross Learning<br />

Center (recommended).<br />
