National Honor Society Inducts New Members
On Wednesday, March 19, the Copley Chapter of the National Honor
Society (NHS) inducted 43 students during a traditional candlelight
ceremony held in the John Halchin Memorial Auditorium. The faculty
council voted on the candidates who met the following criteria for
membership: scholarship (3.65 GPA), leadership, character, and service
to the school and community.
The speakers for the evening included Mr. Brian Poe, Assistant
Superintendent, Copley-Fairlawn City Schools; Mr. William Steffen,
Principal, Copley High School; and Mr. Tom Beck, WZIP General Manager.
A breakfast hosted by current NHS members in the Tomahawk Room at CHS on the morning
of induction honored the new members, and a dessert reception followed the formal induction
ceremony.
New inductees include the following: seniors—Katherine Burns and Heather Demor; juniors—
Nicholas Belay, Alex Li, Meghan Schueller, Grant Webel; and sophomores—Maddison Buckham,
Alexander Calderone, Adrian Christ, Rebecca Christopher, Arial Cohen, Kimberly Crowley, Sarah
Davis, Steven Demor, Katelyn Reichenbach, Laura Doncaster, Kevin Dressler, Eric Fela, Michelle
Kolk, Ha Neul Lee, Patrick Miller, Emily Nace, David Pasini, Alexander Pelle, Allie Quine, Katelyn
Desimone, Jaz Robinson, Kelly Rourke, Anoli Shah, Phillip Simon, Michael Ferguson, David Fresh,
Megan Hodge, Jennifer Hu, Natalie Jarmusik, Kasey Klein, Krysten Kasting, Megan Smeznik,
Shea Stankard, Matthew Varley, Robin Vij, Caroline Wang, and Rebecca Wilkerson.

Finalist for eTech Ohio Technology
Administrator of the Year
Mr. Lance Green, Director of Technology for Copley-Fairlawn
City Schools, was recently recognized as one of nine fi nalists
in the state for the eTech Ohio Technology Administrator of the
Year Award. Mr. Green was
honored at the eTech Ohio
Educational Conference
held in Columbus from
February 4-6. The eTech
awards honor individuals
who have encouraged
and facilitated the use of
educational technology
in their schools. He was
selected as a fi nalist because
of his many accomplishments
as Technology Director even
though he has only been in
that capacity for the past two
years.
