This narrative is woven against a searing examination of<br />

the international financial crisis that gripped the globe at<br />

the same moment. Confronting the financial system that<br />

dominates our world, Daisey wrestles with the largest<br />

questions of what the collapse means, and what it can tell<br />

us about our deepest values. Part adventure story and part<br />

memoir, he explores each culture to unearth a human truth<br />

between the seemingly primitive and achingly modern.<br />

What does it mean to belong to a place? Daisey has travelled<br />

all over the world, from Tajikistan to remote Pacific islands.<br />

Now he’s in Ireland for the first time, and he’s spent weeks<br />

interviewing people from all walks of life to tell an honest<br />

story that tries to bridge the Irish mythology he knows<br />

from America to a foreign homeland he’s never known.<br />

Somewhere between Billy Connolly and Hunter S. Thompson,<br />

Daisey dives into the messy, complicated heart of Ireland<br />

with dark humour and irreverent wit, holding a mirror up for<br />

us to gaze into if we choose.<br />
