Day 1<br />
Arrive Mumbai<br />
Arrive in Mumbai. Pulsating, alive, on-the-move, vibrant, Fun - this<br />
is Mumbai or as it is still frequently referred to - Bombay. The most<br />
modern city in <strong>India</strong>, it captures the spirit of the changing pace set<br />
by liberalization and modernization. You will be met upon arrival<br />
and transferred to your hotel, rest of the evening is at your leisure.<br />

Day 2<br />
Mumbai<br />
This morning you will visit the Elephanta island by motorboat and<br />
witness the beautifully sculpted rock-cut temples believed to have<br />
been created between 450 and 750 A.D., when the island was<br />
known as Gharapuri, the Fortress City. After lunch begin your city<br />
tour with a visit to Gateway of <strong>India</strong> - the landmark of Mumbai,<br />
proceed to Mani Bhavan (Mahatma Gandhi Memorial), you will<br />
drive past Marine drive popularly called as the queen’s necklace<br />
and visit the Hanging Gardens, built on a water reservoir. End your<br />
tour with a visit to the Prince of Wales Museum, which boasts of a<br />
significant collection of Indus valley artifacts some of them dating<br />
back to more than 5000 years. Rest of the day is at your leisure for<br />
shopping and individual activities. Overnight stay at hotel.<br />

Day 4<br />
Mumbai - Neral (110 Kms / 2-3 Hrs)<br />
Matheran (20 Kms / 45 minutes)<br />
Early this morning you will drive to Matheran, a charming hill station<br />
known for its beautiful scenery. You may board a Mountain Toy<br />
train from Neral to Matheran, a most picturesque journey offering<br />
stunning views of Sahyadri Mountains. Matheran also boast as the<br />
only hill station in <strong>India</strong> where any vehicular traffic is not allowed<br />
inside Matheran Town. Proceed to your hotel on foot or on a horse<br />
back, rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.<br />
Day 5<br />
Matheran<br />
This day is at leisure to explore various view points of Matheran on<br />
your own. You may hire a horse or go for a day long walk to visit the<br />
important viewpoints. Some of them include the Panorama Point,<br />
One Tree Hill and Echo Point. Lastly visit the Charlot lake, which is<br />
the main drinking water source of Matheran Town. Overnight stay<br />
at hotel.<br />
Day 6<br />
Matheran - Mumbai (130 Kms / 3-4 Hrs)<br />
You will drive back to Mumbai and proceed to airport / railway<br />
station for your journey back home.<br />
