UKWA has received a record number of entries for this year’s Awards for Warehousing ceremony.. There are six categories of Award that members can enter - The Warehouse Person of the Year, Training, Best New Warehouse Member, Team of the Year, Technology/Innovations and Environment – and the number of entries in each is the highest ever Roger Williams, chief executive officer of UKWA, commented: “We feel that the high number of entries received is a reflection of the success of our Awards event. The excellent quality of the entries will make judging particularly difficult. Each nomination will be considered by the Awards Committee. Three finalists for each ANNUAL AWARDS Record number of entries for Awards category will be selected and published in the May edition of Warehouse. The Awards Committee may then call for additional evidence to help in the final selection process that will take place prior to the presentation ceremony at the end of June. The Awards Committee comprises Past Chairman of UKWA, Mel Grainger, Phil Culling, MD of Redirack Ltd and the Chief Executive Officer of UKWA, Roger Williams This year’s event will be the 10th UKWA Annual Awards for Warehousing and takes place alongside the Association’s Annual Luncheon at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London on Tuesday 30th June. Guest speaker and cohost of the Awards for Warehousing is the political journalist, broadcaster and, latterly, distinguished ballroom dancer, John Sergeant.. UKWA’s Annual Luncheon and Annual Awards for Warehousing Ceremony is rightly regarded as one one of the most enjoyable events in the the third party logistics industry’s annual calendar. “Whether you are concerned about developing a business in tough times or the future of your career the connections you have will never have been more important to you,” says Roger Williams. “The UKWA Annual Lunch is a great place to renew old contacts and meet new ones in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.” Tickets for the UKWA Annual Luncheon and Awards for Warehousing Ceremony 2008 are priced £95 inclusive of VAT each or a table of 10 can be reserved for the total amount of £900 inclusive of VAT.
