Salesforce1 Enhancements
• Actions are no longer available from a record’s related information page. Instead, users can tap a related list and swipe each
related list row item and get a list of row-level actions for that item. For more information, see Work with Records Directly
from Lists on page 34.
What does this mean for custom branding?
Because we’ve removed the publisher icon ( ), that aspect of Salesforce1 custom branding is now no longer available. However,
if you set a custom background color for the app, the action bar uses that color.
Custom action icons are still supported. However, there can be only one version of a custom icon. Any custom action icons
that you created prior to Winter ’15 will now look truncated in the action bar. Icons that you optimize for the new action bar
won’t look as good in earlier versions of Salesforce1 that still include the publisher icon and action tray. That said, to optimize
your custom action icons for display in the action bar and row-level actions, use these guidelines.
• The icon should be 72 x 72 pixels. Use the full pixel area for the image—don’t leave spacing around the image like before.
• Make the image a PNG with a transparent background, with a file size that is less than 10k.
• Have a resolution of 72 dpi.
• The icon graphic should be white, or lighter than the background color.
• Avoid heavy inner or outer shadows.
• Use simple and flat styling resembling the Salesforce1 icon family.
Work with Records Directly from Lists
As part of the work we did to move actions from the actions tray to the new action bar, we’ve also added actions at the row
level on task lists and object record related lists in Salesforce1. Now the actions users need most can also be accessed directly
from each item in these lists.
Note: Row-level actions are available immediately in the Salesforce1 mobile browser app. In the Salesforce1
downloadable apps, row-level actions are immediately available for task lists; related lists will be updated with row-level
actions in a future release.
To access row-level actions, navigate to the task list or an object’s related information page and tap one of the related lists.
Then swipe left on the desired record.
For example, here’s how it works for the Opportunities related list on an account.
Here’s the Opportunities related list on
an account.
Swipe a list item to the left to reveal
row-level actions.
Tap the ellipsis icon ( ) to show the full
list of actions available for that related
list item.
