Salesforce1 Enhancements
Find the Right Record While Typing Keywords
Salesforce1 now helps users quickly find and access all records they have permission to view without having to finish typing
the keywords for the search. Using the small, touch keypads on mobile phones is often error-prone, so the less typing the
better! This enhancement is currently provided in the Salesforce1 mobile browser app only, but will be included in a future
update of the downloadable apps for Android and iOS devices.
When users begin typing in a search box, a list below the box shows recently accessed records and list views that match the
characters entered so far. As three or more characters are entered, the list continues to filter matching recently accessed items
and also starts to show all other matching records that the user has permission to access for the object.
When the desired item shows in the list, tap it to open it. If the right record doesn’t show up in the list by the time all keywords
are entered, start the full search from the keyboard or by tapping Search for keywords.
Note: This feature is automatically available for all objects supported in the Salesforce1 mobile browser app, with
the exception of Salesforce Files and Salesforce Knowledge. For Files, only matching recently accessed records are
displayed in the list.
To make this option available for Knowledge searches, in Setup, click Customize > Knowledge > Settings. In the
Knowledge One section, select the Auto-complete title search checkbox.
Prevent Duplicate Records (Beta)
Use duplicate rules to manage whether Salesforce1 users can save records that are identified as possible duplicates.
Duplicate Rules available in: Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
Duplicate rules tell Salesforce what action to take when users attempt to create records that may be duplicates to existing
Salesforce records. For example, the duplicate rule could block users from saving the possible duplicate record or allow them
to save it anyway.
