2100 FIRE OFFICER I (7 days)<br />
<strong>Fire</strong> Officer <strong>Curriculum</strong><br />
Using a traditional learning approach, this <strong>Fire</strong> Officer I course offers instructor presentations, class discussions<br />
and interactive learning activities to achieve the learning goals of the course. The course addresses the<br />
2009 edition of NFPA 1021: Standard for <strong>Fire</strong> Officer Professional Qualifications and prepares students for the<br />
following tasks: supervising personnel, assigning tasks, solving personnel performance problems, applying department<br />
policies, working with the local community, ensuring firefighter safety, fire and life safety inspections<br />
and performing typical company officer administrative functions. Upon successful completion of the course,<br />
the student will receive a <strong>Fire</strong> Officer I IFSAC accredited certificate. Out-of-class assignments will be necessary<br />
to complete the course.<br />
Prerequisite: <strong>Fire</strong> Instructor I, <strong>Fire</strong>fighter II, 2147 or 2137 or equivalent I-200 training<br />
Recommended Prerequisite: 2118, 2119 and 2121<br />
Hours: 56<br />
Students: Min: 12 Max: 20<br />
Resident Fee: $5 in-state, $640 out-of-state (dorm and meals additional)<br />
$480 in-state military (dorm and meals additional)<br />
