bearers. The weapons squad is organized into two<br />

machinegun teams <strong>and</strong> a rocket launcher team.<br />

(2) The rifle platoon of the airborne rifle company differs in<br />

that:<br />

(a) It contains a radiotelephone operator in platoon headquarters.<br />

(b) The weapons squad has two 3.5-inch rocket launcher<br />

teams rather than one.<br />

(c) One infantry light weapons carrier is organic to the<br />

weapons squad.<br />

d. Weapons Platoon.<br />

(1) The weapons platoon of the infantry rifle company consists<br />

of a platoon headquarters, an 81-mm mortar section,<br />

<strong>and</strong> two antitank squads. In the platoon headquarters<br />

are the platoon leader, platoon sergeant, <strong>and</strong> a<br />

radiotelephone operator. The 81-mm mortar section<br />

headquarters consists of a section leader, three forward<br />

observers, two fire direction computers, <strong>and</strong> four radiotelephone<br />

operators. Each of the three 81-mm mortar<br />

squads has a squad leader, gunner, assistant gunner,<br />

<strong>and</strong> two ammunition bearers. Each of the antitank<br />

squads has a squad leader, gunner, loader, <strong>and</strong> light<br />

truck driver. The platoon's organic transportation is<br />

located as follows: one 1 / 4 -ton truck with trailer in platoon<br />

headquarters; one ¾-ton truck with trailer in the<br />

81-mm mortar section headquarters, one :%-ton truck<br />

with trailer in each 81-mm mortar squad; <strong>and</strong> one -/4<br />

ton truck in each antitank squad.<br />

(2) The weapons platoon of the airborne rifle company differs<br />

in that:<br />

(a) A section headquarters (section leader <strong>and</strong> ammunition<br />

h<strong>and</strong>ler) controls the two antitank squads.<br />

(b) The 81-mm mortar section headquarters contains one<br />

additional fire direction computer.<br />

(c) No vehicles are organic to platoon headquarters.<br />

(d) Each 81-mm mortar squad has one infantry light<br />

weapons carrier rather than a ¾%-ton truck with<br />

trailer.<br />

(e) The antitank section headquarters contains one infantry<br />

light weapons carrier.<br />

(f) Each antitank squad contains one infantry light<br />

weapons carrier rather than a l/ 4 -ton truck.<br />
