workplacelean® PILLARS provides teams a chance to use Lean tools to identify and eliminate waste, solve<br />

problems, and make improvements within a simulated office setting. The benefit of PILLARS is finding<br />

improvements within work processes and procedures. This introductory LEAN© course will provide your<br />

office with the basic understanding of LEAN© concepts. You’ll learn about additional opportunities for your<br />

office if you’re interested in continuing your workplacelean® office best practices.<br />

PILLARS TRAINING AGENDA (8 HOURS)<br />

• Introductions/expectations<br />

• Change and history of Lean<br />

• Definition of workplacelean®<br />

• Defining waste<br />

• Working with Wastes – Simulation Round 1<br />

• Making Improvements – Simulation Round 2<br />

• Steps for achieving predictable results<br />

• Applying Lean tools<br />

• Using Lean Tools– Simulation Round 3<br />

• Wrap up and next steps<br />

BY THE END OF THE SESSION,<br />

PARTICIPANTS SHOULD:<br />

1. Have a basic understanding of lean concepts and<br />

tools<br />

2. Be familiar with common knowledge of lean<br />

terminology<br />

3. Be able to identify wastes within their work<br />

environment<br />

4. Be able to recognize how basic lean tools could be<br />

applied to remove waste in their work environment<br />

5. Recognize that lean concepts can be applied in<br />

office processes<br />

THE TRAINING: CAN help identify potential targets for improvement projects within your organization.<br />

THE TRAINING: IS NOT intended to evaluate specific processes or wastes within your organization.<br />
