DEFINITIONS Permanent Employee: Term Employee: Wage Employee: Seconded Staff: Full time: Part-time: Anniversary Date: LSI: Management Team: An employee who has successfully completed the probationary period and whose employment has no predetermined end point. An employee who is hired for a specified term. Term employees may be paid on a monthly salary or an hourly rate. Employees who are paid on an hourly basis. A staff member whose services are contracted through an arrangement with another institution for a specified period of time and whose compensation and benefits are determined by their home institution. An employee whose regular hours of work are 35 hours per week. An employee whose regular hours of work are less than 35 hours per week. The employee’s first day of work, which is generally the date as stated in the letter of employment. Long Service Increment The following positions shall comprise TAL’s Management Team: CEO, APLEN Director, Communications Director, Finance Manager, and Executive Assistant EMPLOYMENT Hours of Work Office hours are normally 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Employees are entitled to two fifteen minute breaks and one unpaid hour for lunch. Flexibility in Hours of Work Changes to regular scheduled hours may be approved at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer, and upon the recommendation of the Supervisor.
