Keppel Land has made

Going beyond current best
practices, Keppel Land recently
formed an Environment
Management Committee
(EMC), responsible for
developing and implementing
environmental programmes,
such as the achievement of
ISO certifications.

Keppel Land’s commitment
to protect the environment
has not gone unnoticed. In
the inaugural Singapore
Green Summit 2007 jointly
organised by the Singapore
Environment Council and the
Association for Chartered
Certified Accountants
(ACCA), Keppel Land
emerged as one of seven
finalists in the ACCA
Singapore Environmental
and Social Reporting Awards.
Deemed the “Green
Oscars”, this prestigious
event honours and highlights
outstanding efforts by
companies that contribute to
environmental sustainability
in Singapore. It recognises
the best environmental
practices and management
within the industries, as well
as promotes the uptake of
environmental and social
reporting.
Keppel Land was also one of
six finalists in the ACCA
Singapore Environmental
Reporting Awards
competition held in March
2005. The award is presented
to companies that display
an exceptional effort in
reporting their non-financial
disclosures to their
stakeholders. It aims to
promote good corporate
citizenship and encourage
companies to be more
accountable for the social,
environmental and economic
impact on their activities.

More than just good governance
Keppel Philippines Marine,
Inc (KPMI) was once again a
finalist in the fifth MAP Best
Annual Report (BAR) Awards
on 11 December 2007.
Organised by the
Management Association of
the Philippines (MAP), in
co-operation with the
Philippine Stock Exchange
(PSE) and news publication
BusinessWorld, the Awards
recognises companies who
practice principles of good
governance in the Philippine
business community.
This promotes investor
confidence in the Philippine
stock market by increasing
the level of transparency,
accountability and fairness
amongst its members.
Since the Awards were
instituted in 2003, KPMI has
always been in the list of
finalists for the coveted
award.
“This award is another vote
of confidence to KPMI’s
practice of good corporate
governance and disclosure,”
said Ms. Agnes Barbara L.
Lorenzo, KPMI’s Vice
President for Administration
and Finance, who received
the award on behalf of the
company.
She added, “The Annual
Report is a very useful and
powerful communication
tool. The shareholders are
provided with a clear,
balanced and fair assessment
of the company’s
performance as well as the
plans to further increase the
