Motor Corps Installation of Officers
Les Aker Right
Happy New Year 2012 to ALL. As Captain
of the Motor Corps I foresee a bright and
exciting year both for the Khedive Temple,
their Units and the Motor Corps. It is
going to be an exciting time with the Imperial in July,
followed by in the fall of MASA and SASA. We look
forward to supporting our 2012 Potentate Illustrious
Sir Joe Register, his Lady Holly and the Divan. Isn’t it
GREAT to be a Shriner.
December finished on a good note with the Motor
Corps participating in parades for Lynnhaven Colony,
the Oceanfront Virginia Beach Parade and the
Smithfield Parade. We had a wonderful time doing all
the parades especially the one in Smithfield where our
ladies shopped in the morning while we prepared for
parading in the afternoon. The day was topped off by
our Annual Holiday Party and Installation of Officers
at the Smithfield Station. High Priest and Prophet
Randy Murphy was our installing officer and we were
also fortunate to have the Illustrious Sir Don Meyer
and his Lady Betty join us for the evening events.
The Unit is anxious in seeing everyone at the Potentate
Ball in February. We are also looking forward to the
March events which includes Admirals Shrine night,
and the Oceanview St. Patricks Day parade. I hope
everyone comes out for the Admirals Night at the
Scope on 03 March. We will be on the Ice with other
Motorized Units of the Temple. Until then stay warm
and keep the Faith for the Children.
Speaking of the Installation of Officers, I would like
to take this opportunity to introduce the new Motor
Corps Officers and their ladies for 2012, the Captain
is Les Aker and Lady Linda, 1 st Lieutenant Ernie Ayers
and Lady Dana, 2 nd Lieutenant Steve Smith (PC) and
Lady Judy, Secretary is George Messinger (PC) and
Lady Bonnie. We have had one change since our
Installation in December and that is Noble Kevin
Dawkins (PC) and Lady Cheryl replaced Noble Elwood
Paschal and his Lady Pat as Treasurer. As you all
know Noble Elwood has moved up the line to be the
Temples Oriental Guide for 2012. Congratulations
Noble Elwood and his Lady Pat for being voted into
the nobility of the Temple. We wish them well in their
future endeavors.
