So you’ve ticked off every continent, every five-star hotel<br />

and every Michelin-starred restaurant in the world. What<br />

next? Perhaps the most extreme new type of travel is the<br />

zero gravity kind. Companies like S3 offer the chance<br />

for thrillseekers to experience weightlessness on one of<br />

their ZeroG flights – departing from various locations<br />

worldwide, including Hong Kong in 2015. Richard Joye,<br />

head of business development at S3, explains, “Everyone<br />

can freely float just like an astronaut in the course of 15<br />

parabolas, each providing between 20 and 25 seconds of<br />

reduced gravity or weightlessness over the 90-minute<br />

flight duration.”<br />

Passengers can take their pick between the party zone,<br />

the premium zone and the VIP zone – which holds<br />

12 passengers at a total cost of around HK$535,000.<br />

Each passenger receives an S3 Breitling watch and the<br />

knowledge that they have experienced something that<br />

few other mortals ever will in their lifetime. After years<br />

of preparation, safety is no longer a concern as Richard<br />

explains, “These flights are very safe. The main space<br />

agencies [NASA, ESA, Roscosmos] have been operating<br />

them for several decades, and our modified aircraft is<br />

certified for parabolic flights and is more precise than<br />

other platforms presently available.”<br />
