OPEN TEAMS
Jam
Captain: Idris Nolan
Formed in 1998 with players hailing from all over the San Francisco Bay
Area and beyond, Jam is attending the UPA Club Championships for the
8th time in 10 years. A two-time national finalist (’01, ’04) and five-time
national semifinalist (’00, ’01, ’03, ’04, ’05), Jam has won the Northwest
region three times (’98, ’01, ’07) and the Northern California section six
times (’99, ’00, ’01, ’02, ’03, ’04).
The style of play is blue collar with a splash of jazz. After a year off to try
something new, Jam is back to its roots and retooled for ’07. A couple new
faces have joined the mix and couple old ones have returned. The team
colors are a fresh new blue and gold, but the logo remains the same…
Sutro Tower, the San Francisco landmark is a tv/radio antenna well known
to locals.
Jam comes to 2007 UPA Club Championships as the Northwest regional
champion with a record of 32-9 and one goal in mind… to win the next
game. Better grab an umbrella!
Johnny Bravo
Captain(s): Colin Gottlieb (captain),
Joshua Ackley (captain), Forrest
Collins (Defensive Coordinator), Mitch
Schminke (Offensive Coordinator)
Like a soda being shaken, Bravo looks to finally burn the hay that is ultimate.
New blood mixed with old makes for a delectable treat that is
both tangy and burnt. Is this toasty like substance going to step up and
smother jam all over their hardened crust? A brief history. Bravo was an
accident like many of the players. Like all mistakes it grew until it became
an undeniable waste of money and child support. Many moons later
women’s knees get week from pure fear at the mere chance of glimpsing
the glimmering stag that is Johnny Bravo. Although one still holds
hope, and that one is JV’s dog with those sultry eyes, pouty eyelashes and
supple fur who desires to have a voice just for one day so that she may
sing in a angelic voice the praise and love like desire that she has for this
team. Hermes has put back on the saddles and dusted off the helmet for
he has one more message to deliver and those words, the very words that
shall capture in horrific clarity the heart and imagination of a nation are
“yeah buddy.”
