restraint checking events were held with
184 vehicles and 266 restraints inspected.

Safer Drivers’ workshops held with
71 participants (participants are the
supervising drivers)
‘Slow Down’ program delivered with
eight local streets targeted.
Acquire land and commence the staged
construction of Kurrajong Road between
Kookaburra Road and Sarah Hollands
Drive (Technical Services)
Project continuing. Land
acquisitions commenced, however delays
occurred due to the need to resolve
adjustments and clearance to major
electrical transmission lines with Transgrid
and Endeavour Energy, which impacted
on determination of road alignment. Site
works to commence in late 2011.
Acquire land and complete the
construction of the road works and
culvert on Strzelecki Drive, Horningsea
Park (Technical Services)
Project continuing. Land
acquired with works to be undertaken by
adjoining developer as part of subdivision
construction. Works by developer
underway.
Commence the construction of the
bridge over Cabramatta creek,
Kurrajong Road (Technical Services)
Project continuing. Design work
underway with site works to start in
2011-12 in conjunction with extension of
Kurrajong Rd between Kookaburra Road
and Sarah Hollands Drive. Delayed due to
need to finalise approvals and works on
transmission line adjustments.
Commence construction of the
extension of Ingham Drive to the Hume
Highway (Technical Services)
Project continuing. Approvals
for road closure of Pine Road (to enable
new road to be constructed) being sought
and Voluntary Planning Agreement being
finalised with developer. Delayed pending
approval for road closure.
Commence construction of the upgrade
works of Bernera Road between
Kurrajong Road and Camden Valley Way
(Technical Services)
Project continuing. Necessary
investigation, design and construction
planning is underway and site works
to start in 2011-12. Delays to planned
commencement have been caused by
several factors, including additional design
and utility adjustment investigations.
Construct the bridge over the drainage
corridor, Pacific Palms Drive, Prestons
(Technical Services)
Project continuing. Project is
developer constructed works.
Commence construction of the drainage
basin at Jardine Drive, Edmondson Park
(Technical Services)
Project continuing. Construction
delayed due to need to carry out
compulsory acquisition.
Land acquisition process has
commenced and progressing with an
anticipated target date of December 2011.
Construction works to start January 2012.
Approval sought and received from State
Government for extension to project time.
Purchase additional properties affected
by severe flood risk from Georges River
at Moorebank (Civil Construction and
Assets)
Project delayed. Following
valuation and negotiations with two
property owners, Council has been
unsuccessful in acquiring any properties
due to competition from the private
market. Negotiations are now underway
to pursue acquisition of other properties.
Carry out drainage rehabilitation and
renewal of drainage systems (Civil
Construction and Assets)
Project complete. Over $2.3M has
been spent on:
- Extensive renewal and rehabilitation
of over 4.5km piped stormwater
drainage systems
- Investigation and design of major
flood mitigation projects to alleviate
flooding within and around the city
centre
- Enhanced maintenance of piped
drainage systems involving a
structured inspection program, high
pressure cleaning, removal of root
intrusions and minor maintenance
- Completion of piping of an existing
drainage channel along Heathcote Rd
adjoining Clinches Pond
- Installation of telemetry flood
warning systems at flood detention
basins for improved monitoring,
reporting and emergency response
to potential flood alerts.
Construct a new roundabout at
intersection of Pine and Box Roads

Complete staged reconstruction of
Governor Macquarie Drive, Chipping
Norton between Georges River and
