Our Werdohl-Bärenstein plant has been
developed through major capital expenditure
into a modern, efficient specialist
wire manufacturing facility. Approximately
5,500 tonnes/year of wire rod, fineand
heavy-gauge wire, flat wire, heating
elements and rods are produced here,
mainly from nickel-base alloys, highalloy
special stainless steels, stainless,
acid- and heat-resistant steels. The products
are used in the electrical and electronics
industries, the automotive industry
and in industrial engineering - in the
latter case, chiefly in the fields of energy
and environmental technology, chemicals/petrochemicals,
offshore engineering
and furnace construction. In these
markets Krupp VDM has won a good
reputation as a supplier of materials for
innovative technological solutions.
Wire from Krupp VDM is subjected to
extremely stringent quality controls.
Long ago we established quality assurance
as an overriding principle and
developed it into a quality management
system with in-process tests and inspections.
Closely linked to this are our
continuous improvement processes, the
purpose of which is to optimize all our
internal processes. Our customers will
benefit through even faster and more
reliable deliveries - and through the
