GHORASAL <strong>300</strong>-<strong>450</strong><strong>MW</strong> GAS BASED COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT PROJECT<br />

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS<br />

1.1 DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:<br />

A Combined Cycle Power Plant <strong>of</strong> total <strong>300</strong>-<strong>450</strong> <strong>MW</strong> capacity at site conditions (35 0 C,<br />

1.013 mbar, 98% R.H.) is intended to be set up by Bangladesh Power Development Board<br />

at <strong>Ghorasal</strong>, Palash, Narsingdi, Bangladesh. Approx. 9 acres <strong>of</strong> land is allocated <strong>for</strong><br />

implementation <strong>of</strong> this project. Natural Gas will be used as fuel <strong>of</strong> this Power Plant.<br />

The Gas turbine(s) shall be equipped with the bypass stacks and diverter dampers to<br />

allow continuous and reliable simple cycle operation.<br />

The proposed Plant will be installed in the land as Shown in the site layout. The Project<br />

will be implemented on turnkey basis.<br />

The Power Station step-up trans<strong>for</strong>mers would be connected with the 230 kV Power Plant<br />

Sub-Station through underground cable and other necessary electrical equipment as<br />

shown in the single line diagram.<br />

The following parameters are to be considered in plant design:<br />

Sub-Tropical Monsoon.<br />

Temperature: 5 0 C to 45 0 C.<br />

Relative Humidity: 36% to 100%.<br />

Annual Rain Fall: 120 cm to 345 cm.<br />

Wind Velocity: 200 km/hr.<br />

Seismic Horizontal ground Acceleration: 0.2 g.<br />

Other parameters (e.g. soil & water to be analysed by the <strong>Tender</strong>er at his<br />

own cost) as per <strong>Tender</strong> Requirement.<br />

The project may be classified into the following broad areas. Details are<br />

however given later in the scope <strong>of</strong> work.<br />

1. Survey preparation <strong>of</strong> drawing, land development, landscaping <strong>of</strong> the<br />

proposed site.<br />

2. The supply and construction <strong>of</strong> the Power plant equipment.<br />

3. Equipping <strong>of</strong> 230 kV material/equipment at the Power Plant Sub-Station<br />

as per single line diagram enclosed.<br />

4. Supply and <strong>Construction</strong> <strong>of</strong> all civil work <strong>for</strong> a power station complete in<br />

all respect.<br />

5. Supply and construction <strong>of</strong> entire Gas Fuel system <strong>for</strong> the plant, fire<br />

protection system etc.<br />
