The auxiliary <strong>for</strong> the gas turbine generating set and the steam turbine generating<br />
set shall be fed through either the unit auxiliary trans<strong>for</strong>mer or the<br />
station trans<strong>for</strong>mers. The unit auxiliary trans<strong>for</strong>mer shall step generator<br />
voltage down to 6.6 kV to feed the auxiliary equipment.. The station trans<strong>for</strong>mers<br />
shall step the medium voltage <strong>of</strong> 6.6 kV down to 415/230 to feed<br />
gas turbine generator unit MCC and the heat recovery steam generator<br />
MCC and steam turbine generating unit MCC and common station load.<br />
The motor control centers shall contain all the motor starters and circuit<br />
breakers to supply the low voltage auxiliaries <strong>of</strong> the gas turbine generating<br />
units, the steam turbine generating unit and the heat recovery steam generators.<br />
Electrical installation materials shall be chosen <strong>for</strong> power plant service including<br />
lighting, lighting trans<strong>for</strong>mers, panel boards, switch's, outlets, receptacles,<br />
power and control cable, conduit, conduit elbows, bushings,<br />
couplings, lockouts, cable trays, wire ways, pull boxes, floor ducts, junction<br />
boxes, cable accessories, copper bar and ground rods connections, and<br />
various devices <strong>for</strong> the safe operation <strong>of</strong> the system.<br />
A main ground grid made up <strong>of</strong> copper conductor and an adequate number<br />
<strong>of</strong> driven ground rods to give a low grounding resistance shall be provided.<br />
The power and control, cable provided shall be constructed with insulation<br />
and jacketing in accordance with the latest IEC standard.<br />
3.5 Functional Requirements<br />
3.5.1 General<br />
3.5.2 Controls<br />
Combined cycle shall be designed <strong>for</strong> operation as a base load generating<br />
unit. The gas turbine unit shall also be suitable <strong>for</strong> peak load operation as<br />
well as base load plant.<br />
The combined cycle generating plant shall be capable <strong>of</strong> semi-attended<br />
operation under local unit control, and shall also be capable <strong>of</strong> remote control<br />
from the central control room within the site area. The automatic startup<br />
and shut down sequences shall be initiated by DCS either from the local<br />
control room or the central control room. Synchronisation shall be automatic<br />
with provision <strong>for</strong> local and remote manual control.<br />
3.5.3 Cooling system<br />
3.5.4 Noise Levels<br />
The units shall be designed <strong>for</strong> water cooling <strong>of</strong> the condenser, lubrication<br />
oil system, etc. The cooling system <strong>for</strong> generator shall be closed cycle cooling<br />
water and air cooling system.<br />
The Noise level shall be as per Annexure-4.<br />
3.5.5 Vibration Severity<br />
Vibration severity <strong>of</strong> the units shall not exceed 8.0 mm/sec. In normal op-<br />
