but most of the teams cleared their issues or had<br />
no choice but to live with it and make the best of<br />
it. Mutango was now becoming crowded as many<br />
South African FT shooters began to arrive with their<br />
families and campers. The atmosphere was that of<br />
a warm welcome and fraternity between the nations<br />
present for the event.<br />
The weather prediction for Friday 26th September<br />
2009 was typical for England. Thunderstorms and<br />
heavy rain hit the area that evening, sending most of<br />
the shooters to their quarters early for a good night’s<br />
rest to be ready for the next day.<br />
Friday 27th September. The morning was chilly,<br />
heavy overcast clouds and a drizzly rainfall. The<br />
sighting-in range opened at 7.00 am and shooters<br />
were pouring in the area to warm-up and make their<br />
final adjustments. The wind was picking up already.<br />
Once you were happy with your set-up, it was time to<br />
take the chronograph test and register. <strong>Shooter</strong>s then<br />
started to line up in groups with everything running<br />
as smooth as silk. By 9.00 am, all the participants<br />
were seated in the Main Hall awaiting the official<br />
opening by the Chief Safety Officer. The expected<br />
safety standards and course set up was explained<br />
in detail, then participants were asked to collect their<br />
score cards and find their buddy. There was some<br />
confusion at first but this was soon settled and better<br />
organized in the coming days. Once you’ve found<br />
your shooting buddy, grab your equipment and start<br />
moving towards the zone and lane according to the<br />
particular course assigned.<br />
At 11 am and on time came the signal to commence.<br />
