Lyn Strydom and Natalie Terblanche both from RSA<br />

for the 2nd and 3rd place in the Ladies category. For<br />

her first standing shot Lyn smashed down the target<br />

and the crowed roared. Natali was next, she missed<br />

but still the crowed roared their applause for Natali.<br />

Then came three shooters all with a total of 113/150<br />

for the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions. After a lengthy<br />

duel Mark Basset (Wales) placed 3rd whilst David<br />

Combrink (RSA) and Hennri Breytenbach (RSA)<br />

placed 4th and 5th respectively. The last to go into<br />

the arena were two Brits, James Woodhead and<br />

John Costello, who showed from day one that it<br />

was their intention to be World Champion. James<br />

managed to knock down the target after several<br />

attempts from a kneeling position and so earned<br />

himself the title of WFTF 2009 World Champion.<br />

Then the party started with everyone celebrating<br />

with the winners.<br />

It is only fair to mention the top three shooters in all<br />

the categories for record and honor.<br />

A spectacular event was brought to a close with<br />

a spectacular ceremony. Mr. Johan Jansen,<br />

President of SAFTAA and the efforts of his team was<br />

greatly appreciated by all the shooters present at this<br />

amazing World Championship. SAFTAA hard<br />

work sets the standards for future FT World<br />

Championships. The next stop is Hungary in 2010 –<br />

can’t wait!<br />
