UMKC’s Volker (main) campus is located on a 93-acre site in the center
of Kansas City, Mo., a part of the city encompassing a major museum, a
premier research institute, a renowned technical and research library and
Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza shopping and entertainment area. The
University also has a Hospital Hill campus, which is located a few miles
north. The University’s strategic location in one of the Midwest’s leading
metropolitan areas makes UMKC an active partner in the region’s economic
and cultural development.
UMKC has continued to develop nationally recognized programs in the visual
top faculty honor. More than 20 faculty members have received Fulbright
scholarships. UMKC’s student-teacher ratio is 14:1.
student involvement
From student government to campus event planning, UMKC offers students
a wide range of opportunities to get involved on campus. There are more
than 200 student organizations at the University for students to choose
