Description
Prepare to Use Simulation
Mathematics
Dynamic The dynamical system concept is a mathematical
formalization for any fixed "rule" which describes
the time dependence of a point's position in its
ambient space. The mathematical models used to
describe the swinging of a clock pendulum, the
flow of water in a pipe or the number of fish each
spring in a lake are examples of dynamical
systems.
Discrete Event Simulation In discrete event simulation, the operation of a
system is represented as a chronological sequence
of events. Each event occurs at an instant in time
and marks a change of state in the system
Numerical Analysis Study of algorithms for the problems of continuous
mathematics (as distinguished from discrete
mathematics)
Linear algebra Branch of mathematics concerned with the study
of vectors, vector spaces (also called linear spaces),
linear maps (also called linear transformations) and
systems of linear equations. Vector spaces are a
central theme in modern mathematics; thus, linear
algebra is widely used in both abstract algebra and
functional analysis. Linear algebra also has a
concrete representation in analytic geometry and it
is generalized in operator theory. It has extensive
applications in the natural sciences and the social
sciences, since nonlinear models can often be
approximated by a linear one.
Boolean algebra A Boolean algebra is an algebraic structure that
captures essential properties of both set operations
and logic operations. Specifically, it deals with the
set operations of intersection, union, complement
and the logic operations of AND, OR and NOT.
Boolean Algebras are commonly studied in
abstract algebra.
