6.4 Interior Observations
The subject site is currently developed with commercial building and two (2)
residential houses (Exhibits 3 and 4; Appendix 5). The commercial structure was
unoccupied at the time of the site visit. The commercial structure was previously
utilized as a restaurant and hotel facility. The interior of the restaurant included
two (2) large open rooms and a kitchen area with concrete floors and stucco walls
and ceiling (Appendix 5, Photograph 3). The interior of the hotel included a large
open room and kitchen in the downstairs area and bedrooms in the upstairs area
(Appendix 5, Photograph 2). The floors consisted of tile and carpet with sheet
rock and wood paneled walls. Construction and demolition debris and other trash
debris were scattered throughout the structure. The debris included a lawn
mower, furniture, card board boxes, sheet rock, plastic bags, and other debris.
Access to interior of the two (2) residential houses was not granted during the site
visit. A basement structure at the eastern end of the commercial structure was
flooded. Rotting wooden steps leading to the basement were unsafe to allow
access.
